The presentation will answer the question on the clinical benefit of reconstructive procedures in intrabony and furcations defects for improving tooth prognosis and provide the clinician with an evidence based clinical concept for using these procedures in various clinical scenarios. Moreover, new data from preclinical studies and clinical case series have shown that the use of certain volume stable collagen matrices may have a positive effect on stabilizing the periodontal wound and the flap thus enhancing wound healing/regeneration and may be of potential clinical relevance.
